Before you decide

Compare travel costs for the actual trip

Travel charges depend on the destination, dates, Irish provider, payment method and the package available when you buy. A route that is cheapest for a weekend in the EU may be poor value for two weeks outside Europe. These tools therefore use your trip and live quote rather than presenting one provider as universally best.

Check your mobile app, roaming text, card tariff and eSIM checkout immediately before departure. Provider zones and promotional prices change, which is why the Irish plans here keep their published day passes, per-megabyte rates and fair-use allowances in a source-attributed table on a monthly recheck, and why the result names the eSIM price at which the two routes break even, so the quote in front of you can be judged against it.

Check the exact destination zone

EU or regional labels can hide exclusions, territories and commercial UK treatment. Use the country named by the provider and confirm any fair-use allowance.

Price is only one constraint

A travel eSIM needs a compatible unlocked device and may be data-only. Keeping an Irish line active for calls or texts can still create roaming charges if it is used.

Use the final payable amount

Include currency conversion, card margins and package validity. A cheap allowance that expires too early or does not contain enough data is not a usable comparison.
