Use screening tools to decide what to measure next

Healthy-home problems often start with an uncertain signal: persistent condensation, mould risk, a radon map result or a room that never seems to dry. A calculator can organise those observations and point towards the right measurement or equipment, but it cannot inspect the building or diagnose a health condition.

Enter the room and usage details as they really are. Temperature in particular changes the answer rather than refining it: below 15°C a small compressor dehumidifier spends its time defrosting instead of collecting, so the sizing follows the machines actually on sale here at their published manufacturer draws. Pay the same attention to ventilation, moisture sources and how long the problem has persisted, because a device alone may not address the cause.

Risk maps are not home measurements

An area-level radon indication helps decide whether testing is important. Only an appropriate test in the property can show the concentration in that home.
